For someone that loves fashion and blogs about it. It was a bitter pill to swallow when I admitted to myself that I was in a style rut! Now I love a bit of classic black or a breton stripe as much as the next girl but even I had to admit my style was becoming predictable. Jean + T-shirt (if cold add jumper) + trainers = uniform. It took a little while but I wanted to break the style rut I'd found myself in, it's been a bit a a journey but I wanted to share a few tips I'd pick up along the way with you.

Elevate Your Denim
If like me your forever found in blue jeans try adding a bit of texture or pattern I recently purchased a pair of coated jeans and some embroidered "mom jeans" which are both really out of my comfort zone but instantly breathed life into my wardrobe.

Colour Me Bad
Colour can be scary, what shades suit you? What goes well with what? my biggest tip would be if you're nervous about it try dipping your toes in head to your favourite shop and try on a few colourful items too see what makes you feel good. There's a whole colour theory around what tones; cool or warm suit you but when all is said and done fashion should be fun so why not wear what you enjoy - cliche I know but rules are made to be broken! Another tip would be to do monochromatic without it being black or white, what about blush pink, grey or burnt orange?

Step Away From Jeans
I know it's a tricky one especially if your skinny jeans are like your right arm, very much a part of you! But hear me out on this one give it a go - try wearing skirts, or a jump suit, what about culottes? There are so many options for your bottom half jeans don't have to be a permeant fixture.
