The Breakfast Club

The Breakfast club is one of my go to spots for brunch.

The atmosphere is a mixture of eclectic and chic. Last Sunday Lee and I decided to be a little extravagant and treat our selves to a slap up brekkie. We struck gold as we arrived at the Battersea Rise location at around 11am, there were only a few people in the line - result. I think we arrived early enough to miss the lunch time crew (that were cuing down the street as we left).

The smiley waitress showed us to our seats at the bar. We were greeted with festive lights and music. The decor in The Breakfast club is eclectic to say the least. Cheeky posters and books adorn the walls and shelves. The seating a cleaver mix of cosy tables, comfy booths and laid back bar seats. Even though the cue was minimal outside, it was still pretty busy inside lots of hungry diners tucking into all manner of juicy eggs and sipping on delicious beverages.

The menu for the most part Is breakfast related. However they have a pretty extensive drinks list (of the alcoholic kind) for evenings. It was tricky to decide what to go for there really was so much choice. In the end we both went for a predictable full English. Lee had the full monty loaded with black pudding beans granary bread sausages mushrooms and bacon. While I wimped out and opted for the half monty, which was pretty much the same as Lee's but on the skinny side.

It's always nice to have a good juice to accompany a heavy breakfast. Sunday was no exception. We ordered some smoothies to wash down our meals. Mine was a green juice; spinach, mint, mango and apple. While Lee had a mango and strawberry smoothie, we guzzled them both down as they really were absolutely delicious.

There's no way you can hit up The Breakfast Club without pancakes they are divine. There are a range of toppings from American style (eggs, bacon and maple syrup) to berries And cream. As you can tell we went for the latter to share. Every mouthful was a little bit of heaven sweet, creamy, fruity and fluffy.
We finished things off with frothy hot drinks. Mine a chai Late Lee's a cappuccino.

After a hectic week dashing out the house with the odd Yakut or scoffing down porridge sitting at my desk at work. It's nice to enjoy breakfast it's what Sunday's are made for - a slower pace, full plates good company and flowing conversation.
