Morning After Skin Remedies

Over indulgence is all part of the Christmas and new year festivities but it can wreak havoc with your skin. A sweaty night in a bar/club or drinking far to much can often leave your skin dry and dull.

If I've had a bit of a heavy night and need to show my skin some tlc these are my go to products.

I do wash my makeup off the night before but find that I'm usually so tired that I don't do a very good job of it, so I tend to do a double cleanse the following morning. I like to start by using Origins Checks and Balances face wash it's great for cleansing and refreshing your skin. It gives my skin a slight tingly sensation that I quite like as it wakes me up. A small amount of this stuff goes a long way as it foams up nicely.

I follow this up with Vitamin E hot cloth cleanser from Superdrug. I love the that the cleanser is super moisturising. The hot cloth element is a really gentle way to scrub away the remaining impurities of the night before. It is also good for adding moisture back into my skin as the Origins face wash can leave skin feeling a bit dry.

Next I use the Origins Modern Friction face scrub to get rid of the dead cells, I like to use this product on my neck also. I like to follow this up with Superdrug Vitamin E makeup remover around my eyes. It's very gentle and good  at getting rid of any stubborn remaining eye makeup.

The next step for me is the Body Shop tea tree face mask this face mask really does pack a punch, you can feel your skiing tingling as the mask tightens on your face. I also love the fresh menthol fragrance of the tea tree. I only leave this on for around 8-10 min and wash it off with warm water.

Finally I apply a generous amount of Superdrug moisturising day cream this little tub of goodness leaves my skin soft and supple. It also contains spf which is always a bonus.

So that's it, my morning after skin remedy. I know it's a bit long winded but it really does work and I always feel refreshed after.

Do you have any morning after skin care tips? I'd love to hear them.
